Beetles are the most diverse order of life, with an estimated 350,000 described species. Little is known about the vast majority of these organisms. Cucujoidea and Coccinelloidea are two of the most poorly known superfamilies within the Coleoptera. They are often overlooked, undescribed, poorly organized, and little studied because of their small size and cryptic habits. This seminar will discuss various systematic studies recently conducted by the author that highlight how little we know about the insect fauna around us. Studying little brown beetles really is “frontier taxonomy.”
