Illinois International and the Women’s Resources Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are thrilled to announce the inaugural International Young Humanitarian Speaker Series. This year’s esteemed guest is Annie Jones, Quality Assurance Specialist at No Means No Worldwide, an international non-governmental organization dedicated to ending sexual and gender-based violence against women and children globally. A 2017 graduate of Illinois and recipient of the 2024 Charles C. Stewart International Young Humanitarian Award, Jones will share how her deep level of involvement on campus — including as a First Year Consent and Relationship Education (FYCARE) Facilitator at the Women’s Resources Center — helped uniquely position her for the mission-driven career she has today. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Jones spent a transformative semester abroad in Tanzania, completing a month of field research examining the impacts of climate change on indigenous pastoralists.
