Although the two phenomena share the same name, it is currently unknown whether and how superradiance in black holes is connected to superradiance in quantum systems(also known as Dicke superradiance).  In this talk I will present the results and progress we have made in building an information theory approach to understanding superradiance in  both settings. I will first describe the two phenomena themselves as well as their similarities and differences. Then I will introduce the relative entropy and its derivative as a measure of information flow in the systems. I will then demostrate how we are using these informational quantities to develop a unified framework for understanding superradiance in the two very different settings.
