Heralded arbitrary graph states with inefficient quantum emitters
Abstract: Quantum emitter-based schemes for the generation of photonic graph states offer a promising methodology for realizing distributed quantum computation and communication protocols on current-term hardware. In this talk, we introduce what it means to encode the information of a quantum state in a graph, and how these states are an essential resource for universal measurement-based quantum computation. Subsequently, we present a new scheme for making arbitrary graph states, utilizing heralded spin-photon entanglement to circumvent the fundamental problem of photon collection efficiency in state-of-the-art coherent quantum emitter experiments and construct large graph states in polynomial time.
Bio: Maxwell Gold is a 4th year physics graduate student working with Eric Chitambar on distributed quantum computation.
