Light-matter coupling underlies many of the key probes of condensed matter systems. While there has been a great deal of theoretical work investigating quantum coherent effects in simple systems coupled to light, studies investigating such effects in many-body systems are select. In this talk, I will discuss the dynamics associated with the emission of multiple photons from a finite-sized electron gas initialized in some excited state. The resultant cascade is characterized by a competition between Dicke superradiance and Pauli blocking. I will also present related work on thermal radiation from a 1D electron liquid. This radiation is found to possess signatures of Luttinger behavior.
