The number of materials that are predicted to harbor topological phenomena is continuously increasing as a function of time. Of the veritable cornucopia of topological materials both predicted and experimentally verified, topological magnetic materials remain relatively enigmatic. Topological magnetic materials offer a fantastic opportunity to study the coexistence of non-local topological order and local mean-field order, however, the purported topological nature of magnetic metals is often buried in a sea of trivial bands. Currently, there exists a paucity of unambiguous methodologies to experimentally identify the topological nature of magnetic metals from mundane trivial manifestations. In and of itself, such a difficulty provides an opportunity to seek alternative topologically protected quantities but with such freedom comes the difficulty of pointing to a topological culprit when the responsible party to an experimental observation is a basic property of the magnetic material or the measurement scheme employed in the search. In this talk, we will discuss two distinct topological magnetic metals as illustrations of the curious manner in which topology manifests itself in topological magnetic metals and the inherent difficulties in observing topological responses in magnetic metals.
