In the wake of the pandemic, Dance at Illinois performances have been reshuffled and simultaneously reinvigorated. March Dance 2021 will be dedicated to the work of our third-year MFA candidates in dance. These performances will be livestreamed to a broad viewing audience and performed live for a small audience of students, staff, and faculty as part of the Dance at Illinois curriculum following university-approved COVID-19 safety guidelines. These four exciting artists—Danzel Thompson-Stout, Roxane D’Orleans Juste, Rachel Rizzuto, and Jaylen De’Angelo Clay—will present thesis works engaging ideas and social phenomena ranging from transformational hip hop choreography to future visions of ephemera, feminist critiques of television and movement, and multimedia expressions of Black identity and disability. Join us as we witness these powerful works of art.

Mar 18 at 7pm and 9pm: Danzel Thompson-Stout
     This performance includes strobe lighting.

Mar 19 at 7pm and 9pm: Roxane D’Orleans Juste

Mar 20 at 7pm and 9pm: Rachel Rizzuto
     This performance contains adult language
and is intended for mature audiences only.

Mar 21 at 7pm and 9pm: Jaylen De’Angelo Clay

sudden loud noises, visual imagery of violence, and partial nudity
and is intended for mature audiences only.

A talkback will be offered following each performance.

Each performance will also be available on Vimeo as individual videos from Mo Mar 22 through Mo Apr 5.
