Created with the generous support of The Momentary, The Broad Stage, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Virginia Arts Festival, Arizona Arts Live, Traverse Theatre, Purdue Convocations, UtahPresents, and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

The Journey will be streamed through a custom web interface with audience members appearing on camera for a large portion of the show. The high-definition audio and visuals are best enjoyed on an individual basis. Your household may watch together; however, we recommend a single viewer per device.

To participate in the show, patrons will need:

  • A quiet, well-lit space.
  • Desktop, laptop computer, or Apple iPad with minimum 10-inch screen, microphone, and webcam, and a stable internet connection. Mobile devices and tablet devices (excluding Apple iPads) are not supported.
  • Safari (v13+), Chrome (v72+), Microsoft Edge (v79+), or Firefox (v65+) browser. Internet Explorer is not supported. If using an Apple iPad, Safari (12+) is the only browser supported.
  • Headphones with built-in microphone.

This performance will last approximately one hour. No late arrivals.

Can multiple members of my household watch on the same screen?
Because the high-definition visual and immersive stereo soundscape are essential to experiencing The Journey, the artist recommends a single viewer with headphones on each screen. Your household may watch together; however, only one person may interact with Scott during the performance and that participant may not change partway through the performance.

How many participants will be included in each performance?
There will be a maximum of 30 participants per performance.

Do I need to set up anything in my home?
Mentalism requires that Scott be able to see and hear you clearly. No mood lighting; please turn on your lights!  Be sure to do the exclusive pre-show activities and have your object of meaning, two sheets of paper, and a thick marker nearby for the performance.

Where and when can I access the virtual theatre?
The Journey will be streamed through a custom web interface that runs in your internet browser. No downloads required. The day before the event, you will receive a link via email to access the virtual theatre, and our host will be waiting in the virtual lobby to check you in.

On what kind of device can I watch this event?
You will need a desktop/laptop computer or iPad with minimum 10-inch screen. The only tablet supported is an iPad with Safari browser. Mobile phones are not supported. Your device will need a webcam and microphone, as well as stereo headphones for an optimal experience. Please view the troubleshooting tips if you encounter issues with any of the supported devices.

What internet browser should I use?
If you are using a desktop or laptop computer, we recommend using the most updated version of Safari, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox. Internet Explorer is not supported. If you are using an iPad, Safari is the only browser that is supported. Browsers on mobile phones are not supported.  Please view our troubleshooting tips if you encounter issues with any of the supported browsers.

Do I have to use headphones?
We recommend using stereo headphones to avoid possible feedback problems from speakers.

May I screencast to a TV?
Screencasting the performance to a TV is not recommended because of possible feedback problems from speakers.

Will I be seen on screen?
Yes. All participants will leave their cameras on for the entire performance.
