Large-scale structure (LSS) studies provide insights on the nature of dark matter, dark energy, and evolution of galaxies, which remain central questions in modern cosmology and astronomy. The CMB probes the LSS in the early Universe, galaxy surveys trace the LSS at later epochs, while ALMA and JWST have revealed the early stages of galaxy formation. However, these surveys have their own limitations (in depth, sky coverage or lack of redshift information). The young field of Line-intensity mapping offers a complementary approach by measuring the aggregate emission of all galaxies in deep and wide tomographic maps, offering a statistical view of galaxy evolution across a broad range of populations and epochs.
In this talk, I will focus on two [CII] LIM surveys: CONCERTO and TIM. I will first introduce the SIDES empirical simulation, which builds on extensive efforts to model the CIB in order to forecast the LIM signal. I will then present CONCERTO, the 1st instrument to carry the [CII] LIM survey to probe the dusty star formation during and post-epoch of Reionization. Finally, I will discuss forecasts and prospects for the NASA balloon mission TIM, which will probe the star formation across the cosmic noon during its science flight in December 2027.
