Molecular and Integrative Physiology (MIP) Department Seminar Series

Shruti Bendre, Ph.D. Candidate, Molecular & Integrative Physiology, University of Illinois, Erik Nelson Lab
"Role of Cholesterol Efflux Pump-ABCA1 in Modulation of Tumor Microenvironment and Impact on Breast Cancer Progression"
Nelson Lab Research Topics: Cell-Cell Interactions, Drug Discovery, Endocrinology, Metabolic Regulation, Regulation of Gene Expression, Signal Transduction.  https://mcb.illinois.edu/faculty/profile/enels/

Matthew Lowerison, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Research Associate, Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Illinois, Pengfei Song Lab
"Super-resolution ultrasound imaging of deep tissue microvasculature."
Song Lab focuses on developing and translating cutting-edge ultrasound technologies to close the gap between clinical practice and unmet patient needs. We are currently concentrating on advancing super-resolution microvessel imaging and elasticity imaging technologies to early diagnose cancer and early predict cancer treatment response. We are also actively working on using ultrasound to monitor neural activities in the brain and in the spinal cord. https://songp.ece.illinois.edu/
