Are you interested in design, psychology, and/or technology? If so, come learn about the field of design research, which incorporates all of these disciplines. This event is part of a series of virtual coffee hours with working professionals hosted by the European Union Center. These virtual coffee hours are intended to be an opportunity for students to meet and chat informally and network with working professionals from different fields. The virtual coffee hour will begin with a 15-minute presentation by the speaker, followed by 45 minutes of informal discussion and questions from students. Students are strongly encouraged to come with questions prepared.
About the speaker: Allyce Moncton graduated with a Masters degree in European Union Studies in 2013. For the past 8 years, she has worked in the field of Human-Centered Design. She spent the early part of her career as a Content Strategist while learning to be a Service Designer and Design Researcher. She currently works for the United States Digital Service, a group of federal government technologists that are based out of the White House who work to improve government services through human-centered design and technology. She's had the privilege of helping to improve products and services for Veterans, people with disabilities, and people experiencing food insecurity at three federal government agencies. Allyce is originally from the Chicago suburbs, and currently lives in Washington, D.C.
