This year, the annual EU Day will be celebrated as part of the European Union Center’s 20th Anniversary and on the day of the 130th birthday of Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of the EU who is known and celebrated as “the unifying force behind the birth of the European Union.”

We are delighted that we will be welcoming His Excellency David O’Sullivan, Ambassador of the European Union to the United States, back to the University of Illinois campus to speak on “State of the European Union and Transatlantic Relations” in a conversation moderated by William Bernhard, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Professor of Political Science, for this special occasion.

The European Union Center will host a reception at 10 am, followed by the keynote at 10:30 am.
