ABSTRACT:  Caterpillar's Sean Strubhar, Chris Gerth, & Erin Bousek will doing a panel discussion with questions coming from the class.  The questions can cover opportunities at Caterpillar, current & future Caterpillar technology, application process, experiences of panel members while working at Caterpillar, etc. 

BIOGRAPHIES:

Sean Strubhar, Electronics Engineering Manager at Caterpillar

Graduated from UIUC in May 1998 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  Joined Caterpillar and worked on engine control systems in various positions of increasing leadership.  Currently managing a team responsible for testing technologies and simulation.  Including modeling of physical engines & machines for validation in a virtual environment.

Erin Bousek – Rotational Engineer

I graduated from Bradley University this last May 2022 in Electrical Engineering. I joined Caterpillar full-time in August of last year as part of the Engineering Rotational Program with my home group being the Integrated Powertrain Systems developing operator controls for the Wheel Tractor Scrapers and Off Highway Trucks. I was an intern for the same group in the parallel co-op program since 2018.

Chris Gerth - Embedded Software Engineer

Graduated 2014 from UIUC with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Have been at Caterpillar since then, developing embedded controls software for bulldozers. I also support parts of our desktop simulation infrastructure, and mentor a local area FIRST robotics team.
