Speaker:
 Chris Raymond (BS 86)
 Boeing’s Chief Sustainability Officer

Abstract:
The aerospace industry provides significant societal benefits and is integral to modern life. Commercial aviation is projected to carry 10 billion passengers a year by 2050. It is also responsible for 2.5% of the world’s carbon’s emissions and 12% of transportation’s emissions. The industry has agreed to a net zero carbon emissions by 2050 objective but how might we get there?

Join Chris Raymond, Boeing’s Chief Sustainability Officer for a discussion on the future of flight and the aviation industry’s path to net zero with respect to innovation, partnerships and policy. Together we’ll explore how renewable energy sources like sustainable aviation fuels, hydrogen and batteries, and new airplane technologies are intersecting to usher in a new era of aerospace – and showcase Cascade, a modeling tool to help visualize the climate impact of various decarbonization scenarios to inform strategic decisions.

This discussion will be followed by a networking reception to continue the conversation.

We hope to see you there!
