All ECE students, faculty, and staff are invited to take part, and undergraduates with ECE “Class of 202X” t-shirts are encouraged to wear those during the walk.
Why: To call attention to and celebrate Earth Week and focus on the responsibility and ability of electrical and computer engineers to make the world a better place for all living beings.
Participants will receive a FREE eco-friendly (washable, salvaged hemp blend) face masks, compliments of the ECE Department at the end of the walk.
When *NEW DATE*: Tuesday, April 27, 4 pm – 5 pm
Where: Meet around the Beckman-CSL-ECEB quad circle and begin walking at 4:05 pm to the McFarland Memorial Bell Tower on South Campus and back to the Beckman-CSL-ECE quad circle to disperse.
Walkers are asked to wear masks and be well spaced at all times outdoors, including when gathering at the beginning of the walk around the circle and after the walk. If you plan to enter ECEB before or after you will need to show your access approval via the Safer Illinois app.
This event has been approved by the campus covid-19 executive steering committee.
Earth Week is a great opportunity for all of us to reflect on what the extended ECE family can do to help make Earth a better place for all living beings.
