Speaker:  Adib Roumani, Engineering Manager @ Uber

Bio:  Adib leads our Premium, Reservations and Growth engineering teams at Uber within the Mobility group. He has over 16 years of industry experience at large scale companies and startups. Adib grew up in Toronto, Canada and received his Computer Science degree from University of Toronto. The University of Illinois holds a special place with Adib, as his father received a PHD in physics at this school, and his mother holds a masters degree in electrical engineering.

Adib’s has a unique product and impact engineering mindset; combined with his energy and enthusiasm for students in tech studies allows him to use real-world industry experience and product examples to speak with students around why they should be excited about our field.

Abstract: Getting a ride through Uber is as simple as clicking a button. Yet behind that button is millions of lines of code and complex algorithms that apply some academics in the real world to provide magical experience.
