Dr. Turaeva will be presenting a talk on her work on identity and migration, drawing on current research on Islam in Russia, her recent book on Uzbek labor migration (Migration and Identity in Central Asia: The Uzbek Experience, 2015 Routledge) and new work on the Uzbek state (in Constructing the Uzbek State, 2017, Lexington) as part of the Department of Sociology research speaker series.
