Beckman's facilities and operations and information technology teams, with the support of many others, have recently completed the renovation of 14 labs, three non-lab spaces, several roof repairs and upgraded the building’s network and card access systems. This work has also included the renovation of the Illinois Polymer Maker Lab, which will soon become a new Beckman core facility.
These projects totaled $14.8 million in improvement for Beckman. We want to celebrate these accomplishments with you!
Please join us for brief remarks, a breakfast buffet and tours of many spaces. This event will offer a sprinkling of science, but is especially a celebration of everyone who helped make the renovations possible.
Remarks will begin at 9:20 a.m. in the Beckman garden, weather permitting.
PIs of renovated labs include:
- Cunjiang Yu (ECE, lab focuses on soft electronics)
- Steve Maren (psychology, Emotion and Memory Systems Lab)
- Mark Cohen (CI MED, Translational Oncology and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory)
- Yun-Sheng Chen (ECE, Multimodality Imaging Research Lab)
- Caterina Gratton (psychology, lab focuses on the brain's perceptions and memories)
- Dan Krogstad (MatSE, Illinois Polymer Maker Lab)
Metered parking is available in the parking deck just east of the Beckman Institute.
