Yiqi Xiao, MFA candidate in Design for Responsible Innovation, will present her job talk “Ways to Initiate Cross-Disciplinary Work, and Grow Through It” on Tuesday, April 8 at 12:30 PM at Room 312 in Art and Design Building.
In this talk, she will share her experiences initiating and participating in multiple cross-disciplinary collaborations. She will discuss how she reached out to people from diverse fields and roles, how these collaborations contributed to the development of her own research, and how they enabled her to present and publish design outcomes across fields such as learning sciences, serious games, AI, and education. Her insights offer practical value for growing designers looking to navigate complexity, build meaningful partnerships, and make impact beyond their own disciplines.
