Artificial intelligence is reshaping creative practice, generating opportunity but also trepidation. The uncertain future of artists’ rights in the age of AI begs the question of how content makers navigate creative practice in traditional and digital media. Sarah Conley Odenkirk’s legal and creative practice reframes legal constructions as conceptually provocative spaces. Rather than provide simple solutions, this approach empowers creators to integrate critical questions into practice in order to generate culturally, critically, and technologically responsive work.

Sarah Conley Odenkirk is the Founder of ArtConverge, offering legal services, scholarship, and thought leadership internationally, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. She has been practicing law for more than three decades, focusing on fine art, public art, public policy, and emerging technologies including blockchain and artificial intelligence.
Sarah serves as the Chair of the Art Law Section for the Beverly Hills Bar Association and Secretary for the Art Law Commission for the Union Internationale des Avocats. She was a Lecturer in Law at University of Southern California Gould School of Law from 2022–2025 where she taught Art Law. From 2013–2017 she served as Associate Director for the Sotheby’s Institute of Art’s Art Business Program at Claremont Graduate University.
Sarah sits on the Board of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and serves on the Art Council for Cedar-Sinai Hospital. She is a frequent speaker and published author. In addition to regularly writing on cutting-edge issues, she is the author of A Surprisingly Interesting Book About Contracts for Artists and Other Creatives (AMMO Books, 2014).
