READING OCTAVIA E. BUTLER’S PARABLE OF THE SOWER, WITH TOSHI REAGON AND LIZA JESSIE PETERSON

In The Alchemy of Change—A Parable Becoming, these multi-faceted artists and activists reflect on their deep engagement with Butler’s work. Their performance will feature music from Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower, the opera Reagon co-wrote with Bernice Johnson Reagon, interspersed with poetry by Liza Jessie Peterson. The evening will also uplift the work of Parable Path CU, an initiative that connects the social themes of Butler’s novel to the Champaign-Urbana community.

Tickets will be sold online only as mobile or print-at-home tickets and are not available for purchase by phone or at the Ticket Office counter.
