Foxtail Film Festival Opening Night: Brujería with Chilean Filmmaker Christopher Murray

Thursday, April 24
6:00 PM
Normal Theater, Normal, IL
The event is free and open to the public.

Join us for the opening night of the Foxtail Film Festival featuring a screening of Brujería and a special visit from Chilean filmmaker Christopher Murray.

Set in 19th-century southern Chile and inspired by true events, Brujería follows an Indigenous girl who uncovers a mystical world of sorcery rooted in the land. The film explores the real-life persecution of Indigenous Chilean sorcerers, criminalized for resisting colonial and religious authority, and focuses on powerful themes of cultural erasure, justice, and identity.

This is a unique opportunity to engage with Latin American cinema and meet the director behind this extraordinary film.
