Featuring Tea Professor Bruce Hamana, this event features a formal tea gathering followed by a lecture on chakaiki, or tea records and provides insight into the items used during the tea ceremony. This lecture will showcase Japan House’s special collections and chakaiki while discussing the language and use of words in understanding their importance and meaning to illustrate the nuances of a host’s aesthetic preferences.
