Mental health struggles among college students have been rising over the past decade, and the COVID-19 pandemic has created even greater struggles. This presentation will provide guidance and basic skills to instructors how they may assist students in distress. The presentation will pay special attention to how the stressors caused and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted student mental health and to strategies for identifying distressed students in an online teaching environment.
