South African composer Cara Stacey meets the women of Improvisers Exchange in a special performance of new cross-cultural works developed in residence as a George A. Miller Visiting Scholar. Stacey’s experimentation as a composer is complemented by her research in bow music traditions found in the Kingdom of eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) and South Africa, her background in classical and modern piano performance, and her pursuit of establishing unique ensembles for collective improvisation.
