What is this event?

  •  The Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities is looking for undergraduate students to present original research in the humanities at a symposium this spring
  • Presentations will be around 5 minutes long
  • Research done on behalf of a class is welcomed

Why participate?

  • Present original research in a professional setting
  • Meet other students with similar academic interests
  • Participate in conference-style academic work fit to include in a resume 

What does the term ‘Environmental Humanities’ mean?

The discipline of environmental humanities pursues an understanding of the relationship between human culture, built systems, and the environment. Work can emphasize either human or environmental topics but must include some aspect of each.  If you are unsure whether or not your research is appropriate, ask us!
