Because policing and incarceration contribute to violence experienced by marginalized people, many are focused on dismantling these oppressive systems. Transformative justice is a framework to prevent, intervene in, and address harm through non-punitive accountability.

This workshop will explore basic principles of Community Accountability & Transformative Justice and engage in honest conversation about the challenges we face when using this framework. This workshop will be a space for participants to learn about TJ and how to begin thinking about community-based responses to interpersonal violence. This introductory workshop is intended to expose participants to key concepts, definitions and basic examples.
