A celebration of the publication of Don Crummey’s book Farming and Famine: Landscape Vulnerability in Northeast Ethiopia, 1889-1991, edited by James McCann, which has just appeared with University of Wisconsin Press. Don Crummey was our colleague in History from 1976 until his retirement in 2006. At the time he passed away in 2013, he was nearing completion of the manuscript and this reception is to honor him and his contribution to the fields of African and Ethiopian history and to the History Department and Center for African Studies.
