Info Session: Ruby Mendenhall  (Assistant Dean for Diversity and Democratization of Health Innovation, Carle Illinois College of Medicine) "Medical Humanities and Public Engagement at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine"

Carle Illinois has a first of its kind medical curriculum built on four distinct pillars: basic sciences, clinical sciences, engineering and innovation, and medical humanities. Mendenhall will discuss aspects of the medical humanities curriculum thread and efforts to train compassionate physician-innovators to be on the forefront of developing new approaches to patient care. She will discuss pipeline programs, public engagement and her research on how gun violence affects Black mothers’ health. Mendenhall will also seek input and suggestions from the broader community about medical humanities at Carle Illinois.
