Joan Donovan, Research Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University, will be presenting “What is Media Manipulation?” on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021. The event will take place on Zoom from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. central time.
Just Infrastructures was launched by researchers in the Computer Science Department, the School of Information Sciences and the College of Media to interrogate the complex interactions between people, algorithms, and AI-driven systems. About Dr. Joan Donovan
Dr. Donovan leads the field in examining internet and technology studies, online extremism, media manipulation, and disinformation campaigns. Her research and teaching interests are focused on media manipulation, effects of disinformation campaigns, and adversarial media movements. She leads The Technology and Social Change Project (TaSC) at Harvard, which explores how media manipulation is a means to control public conversation, derail democracy, and disrupt society.
