Chief Red Cloud will speak about Pine Ridge and his work to bring solar power and sustainable housing to the reservation.
He is the founder and president of Red Cloud Renewable, a non-profit dedicated to developing renewable energy solutions that create jobs, address social problems, and move Native American communities toward energy sovereignty. Their Lakota Thiyuha project will provide low-cost, innovative, energy-efficient dome houses for folks who are currently living in uninsulated trailers, old school buses, and other improvised and substandard housing.
Thiyuha: to have a house(hold), to settle down and have a home.
Chief Red Cloud and his visionary work are featured on PBS in the upcoming season 2 of the Native America series. The episode “New Worlds” is scheduled to air on WILL-TV on Tuesday, October 24 at 8 pm.
Come and experience first-hand the inspiring leader of Red Cloud Renewable and the Oglala Lakota Nation.
