In this presentation, Cass Didier (Waverly High School, Nebraska, U.S.) and Rūta Petkevičiūtė (Erudito Lyceum, Kaunas, Lithuania) will share their experience organizing a two-week summer camp for their students in Nebraska in summer 2023. Please register here.

A note on time zones: This presentation will take place at 10-11 A.M. CST (U.S.) / 17.00-18.00 CET (Europe). If you are in a different time zone, please double-check the event start time here

Cass Didier - I am in my 16th year of teaching with the past 7 of those years at Waverly High School in Nebraska. I primarily teach Spanish to high school students but have taught elementary students Spanish as well, and briefly had a “College and Career Readiness” course. I am also a global voices, ethics bowl and Spanish club sponsor. Professionally I am a Teachers for Global Classrooms Fulbright and TED alum. Personally, I’m a wife to an amazing guy, Tom, and together we have two busy boys in our house and one we carry in our heart.

Rūta Petkevičiūtė - Coordinator of International relations, Mentor of International students at Erudito Licejus, Lithuanian. I am an alumna of the Lithuanian education program at the Brazilian Lithuanian School, a graduate of Vilnius University’s Institute of International Relations and Political Sciences and have a Master’s degree in Media and Digital Publishing. I gained a lot of experience by actively representing students in Vilnius University’s student representation (Student council) for four years, later I became the chairman of the student representation (Student Council) of this faculty. In June of 2021  I went to South America. Where I not only worked as a Lithuanian language teacher, but also contributed to the creation and dissemination of communication at the Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in São Paulo, Brazil. I strongly believe , that international student exchange programs not only help to get to know ourselves and the world around us better, but also “open new doors” for a young person and create his future. That's why our project was so important.
