Interested in trying out virtual reality in your own language classroom but not sure where to begin? Register for this virtual presentation by Dr. Tricia Thrasher who recently earned her PhD in French with a concentration in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education from UIUC. This presentation is part of the European Union Center's Transatlantic Educators Lecture Series, where K-12 educators from Europe and the U.S. present on salient topics in education.
Throughout her doctorate program, Tricia conducted research and taught language lessons using a variety of different VR technologies and applications. She is now the Research Manager at Immerse, the first VR application designed specifically for synchronous language teaching and learning. In her talk, she will give an overview of different types of VR technologies available for K-12 educators, tips for how to acquire and learn to use these devices, and an overview of the types of applications currently available for educators to use in their classrooms. Pedagogical examples of VR activities will also be given.
