This semester the EU Center is delighted to offer a series of publicly available “conversations” with Former Members of the European Parliament.
Moderated by EUC Associate Director Jonathan Larson, each conversation will focus on “cases” of past projects, legislation, initiatives, or crises that the Former MEP found particularly rewarding, vexing, or enlightening for understanding the negotiation of European unity and the role that multi-national institutions such as the European Parliament have played in it.
Please join the EU Center on April 13 at 12 P.M. CDT for a moderated conversation with Julie Ward, a British Politician and member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2020. As a MEP, she worked on culture and education, gender equality, child rights, and diversity groups and committees. Join her for an inside look at the world of the European Parliament, particularly human rights, diversity and inclusion in Europe, as well as arts and society. She will discuss her work as a rapporteur on the CULT Committee responses to Charlie Hebdo murders and the Danish and Bataclan attacks.
