Dr. Ortlund is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Emory University School of Medicine and is a cofounder of Allonix Therapeutics. His lab pursues structural and biochemical studies of human nuclear receptors and lipid binding proteins that play central roles in stress, metabolism, and homeostasis. Dr. Ortlund and collaborators used rational design approaches to generate synthetic modulators for the nuclear receptor and metabolic enzymes. In addition to his research laboratory, Dr. Ortlund is the founder and Scientific Director of the Emory Integrated Metabolomics and Lipidomics Core, which uses mass spectrometry to analyze molecular species with both targeted and non-targeted approaches. He has published 112 peer-reviewed manuscripts, holds 2 patents for LRH-1 related technologies and his work has been featured in The NY Times.https://med.emory.edu/departments/biochemistry/research-labs/ortlund/index.html
