SPEAK stands for Song, Poetry, Art, and Knowledge. It is an open-mic public performance space at Krannert Art Museum curated by local artist, Shaya Robinson, featuring guest performers and welcoming all to the mic.

Experience a performance in the galleries by Elliott Levin (saxophone, poetry, flute) and Damon Smith (bass). Sudden Sound concerts feature leading artists in avant-garde jazz and music improvisation. Curated by Jason Finkelman, director of Global Arts Performance Initiatives. Exhibitions include: “Another Place: Storymaking the Entangled Prairie” and “Memorias de la Mujer Lotina: Arpilleras, Women, and Coal in Chile.” The museum is open Tuesday through Friday (10–5) and Saturday (10–4) during Spring Break. Admission is always free. Parking access is easy during school breaks.

How can we use and make maps that reflect our relationship to place? Join architect and scholar Amanda Aman (American Institute of Architecture) for a hands-on workshop where we will make our own creative maps. Bring a map of a place you care about—or we will provide a map of campus for you to work from.

Do you weave, crochet, knit, felt, or embroider? Bring your project and join us for a weaver’s circle in the galleries. All ages and experience levels are welcome! First-time knitter? A limited amount of yarn and needles will be available—and anyone wanting to learn can receive a simple knitting lesson. Free and open to everyone. *Parking nearby is free on weekends.*
