The Art Theater in Champaign will be showing the PBS documentary "Tell Them We Are Rising" on Feb. 28, 2018. Dean James D. Anderson of the College of Education at Illinois is interviewed in the film, which covers the rise, influence, and evolution of America’s historically black colleges and universities.
Societal pressure to publish new or novel research findings has contributed to public concerns and criticisms about the credibility of scientific studies. David Mellor, Project Manager at the Center for Open Science, will help educate researchers about reproducibility and transparency, ultimately producing research that is more effective at solving problems.
The 2018 Educators' Job Fair will offer a great opportunity for students to network and possibly interview with school districts and organizations that are looking for teacher candidates, education students, and school personnel positions.
Dr. Finelli will present research findings to answer some of these questions surrounding student-centered instruction and highlight implications for faculty wishing to overcome student resistance to active learning.
Please join Dean James D. Anderson and members of the Education Alumni Association as they honor this year's Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumni Achievement Award recipients from the College of Education at Illinois.
