In the story, human society is fueled by the discovery of antimatter resources and the ability to produce energy through particle annihilation; robots are used for labor and entertainment. In this webinar, Jesus Sarol, Ph.D., IHSI Senior Research Biostatistician, will delve into the intricacies of validity assessment from the perspective of epidemiologic research, discuss validity in different aspects or stages of research study, such as subject selection, measurement, analysis, and interpretation, and describe some common pitfalls and their consequences.

The Cancer Center at Illinois will hold its 2nd annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 25, 2024, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Beckman Institute atrium. Undergraduate students from CCIL research programs will present posters highlighting their research experiences.

Most research agrees that while social media promotes community engagement, it can also increase the spread of misinformation. There is less consensus in the literature on how much, and under what circumstances misinformation spreads. To examine the role of social media in urban design, I use recent dialogue on the addition of a bike lane in Washington DC.
