The Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies (CEAPS), in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of Illinois, is pleased to offer a two-week summer Mandarin language camp for high school students from July 17 to July 28, 2017. The language camp is offered free of charge for all participants. Students will learn the basics of Mandarin language conversation, writing, and reading, with a focus on functional conversation. Students will also learn about Chinese history, culture, and art.

The camp is intended for students who are preparing to enter grades 9-12 for the 2017-2018 school year and who have had no prior experience with Mandarin language instruction. The camp will be led by instructors who are experienced in Mandarin language instruction with supervision from UIUC faculty. All applicants will be required to submit a brief essay of interest and a recommendation letter, both of which will be used to determine acceptance into the program.

The deadline for application is June 23, 2017

This camp is funded in part by the US Department of Education Title VI grant. For more information visit our website: Mandarin Summer Camp.
