This panel will feature History undergraduates who have participated in our Public History Internship (HIST 398) course.  The interns will share  their experiences at museums and archives around Illinois and beyond, discuss what draws them to public history work, reflect on how their internship experiences helped them to develop their public history skills, and provide information about how other history students can benefit from internships like theirs.  The panel will feature student experiences at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Chicago Public Library Special Collections, the Naper Settlement, the Elgin Historical Museum, Appalshop Archive in Kentucky, Champaign County History Museum, and the Illinois Distributed Museum here on campus.  Public History opportunities near and far….come sample them all!
