The Deutschklub and I are excited to announce our second virtual baking event ZWISCHEN MILCH & MEHL – to be held via Zoom on Monday, April 26 at 6pm.
Looking through my family’s recipe book, I came across my Oma Trudi’s Biskuitrolle (swiss roll) – a delicious and decadent cake that welcomes the sunny season. Traditionally, my Oma prepares it with fresh strawberries from her garden, but it is just as yummy with canned peaches or pineapples. ZWISCHEN MILCH & MEHL welcomes all interested members and amateur bakers from our community. Let’s krempel our Ärmel hoch, turn on our ovens, and create something special!
You can find all ingredients and necessary equipment on the flyer. I am also happy to announce that we will be handing out baking kits at the tree (the one surrounded by the concrete circle) outside the Foreign Languages Building on Friday, February 23 from 3-4pm. In the kits, you’ll find the right amounts for all dry ingredients (put that kitchen scale away!) and a small surprise (perhaps a coveted collector’s item?). If you can ergattern one of the kits, you will only need to contact your farmer des Vertrauens for eggs and a pint of heavy whipping cream. Should you not be able to pick up one of the baking kits, please shop for the ingredients and items listed below before the event.
