What transferrable skills have you developed in school and during your internship? And how can you explain them in ways that make sense to future employers? In this interactive workshop, Derek Attig will teach how to identify your marketable skills and practice articulating their value in a variety of contexts, including resumes and interviews. You will work with real job ads from a variety of fields to give you hands-on experience making connections between your skills and what employers are looking for.
Derek joined the Graduate College Career Development team in 2015 as the Assistant Director for Student Outreach. Before joining the Graduate College, Derek taught at the University of Illinois, worked in nonprofit marketing, and advised graduate students at the university’s Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning.
This year, food will only be served from 12-12:15PM, followed by a 40 minute presentation, giving interns ample time to return to their offices by 1PM.
