Workshop description: In this interactive workshop led by by iSchool faculty Dr. Judith Pintar and Dr. David Hopping, participants would learn about how to apply the practices and protocols of game design, and the differences between these and traditional web design. This workshop will provide a space for people to think through the web development process for a site or app through a gameful pedagogical approach. A Playful by Design approach to web development suggests that an interactive web site is already a game— by making that explicit, and improving certain elements that are foregrounded in game design, it can be possible to improve user experience.
