As an active researcher in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM), Sneha Prabha Narra explores novel applications in AM by utilizing interdisciplinary knowledge from mechanical engineering, materials science, and data analytics, with a particular focus on alloys. Her research investigates microstructure and porosity control in alloys using AM processes, additive manufacturing of non-standard materials and powders, and how data analytics and physics-based knowledge of a process can be combined to reduce the need for experimentation in engineering problems. Prior to joining WPI, Sneha was a postdoctoral researcher for the NextManufacturing (NextM) center at Carnegie Mellon University. Sneha was also one of the instructors of the newly introduced Additive Manufacturing Lab course at CMU which aims at providing hands-on AM experience and characterization of additively manufactured materials. Sneha received her B.E in Civil Engineering from Osmania University (India), M.S in Computational Mechanics, and M.S and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. During her free time, Sneha likes to explore new cuisines and enjoys sharing her experience with fellow food enthusiasts through her restaurant reviews.
