In honor of 100 years of printing and publishing history on this campus, the University of Illinois Press will have a public history display in the North-South Corridor of the Main Library throughout February 2018. The six display cases and the wallboards above them will contain a wealth of materials selected by UIP staff from the University Archives and our own archival materials related to our history of design and printing, award winning scholarship, Illinois history publications, our outstanding series Music in American Life and Working Class in American History, our commitment to social justice issues, and much more. We have been pleased to collaborate with William Maher, University Archivist, and Daniel Tracy, Library and Information Science and Research Services Librarian, to develop this exhibit. The N-S Corridor is one of the most highly trafficked spaces on campus, allowing our history to be shared with the thousands of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our extraordinary library.
