This research covers three projects addressing the status and distribution of herpetofauna in northwest Arkansas prairies, with a focus on species of conservation concern. Using an occupancy framework, we evaluated the status of 14 reptile and amphibian species of conservation concern across 5 counties in Northwest Arkansas, and assessed whether there were any community- or species-level responses to habitat characteristics. We also completed a landscape-scale occupancy study focusing on the Crawfish Frog, assessing historical population status and current distribution. Finally, we compared Ornate Box Turtle and Three-toed Box Turtle thermal ecology in a restored prairie.
