"The Medievalist’s Toolkit for Working with Welsh"
Croeso/Welcome! From the earliest-recorded tale of King Arthur to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Wales and Welsh have captured popular and scholarly imagination for centuries. Come learn about the basic tools and tricks for working with the melodic and (and sometimes mysterious) language of Welsh. This introductory workshop will cover the basics of Welsh pronunciation, introduce major elements of Celtic language structures, and explore best practices for working with Middle Welsh texts in translation.
