Renewable Energy, especially wind power, has continued to grow in the past decades and is leading the way to a cleaner and stronger 21st century U.S. economy.  The wind turbine blade is the key component of a wind turbine responsible of harvesting the kinetic energy of the wind.  A successful wind turbine blade design requires close collaboration among engineers from broad technical disciplines including aerodynamics, structural design, materials, manufacturing processes, non-destructive inspection, and testing.  The seminar will provide a high level overview of various aspects of wind turbine blade design as well as industry trends, technologies, and dilemmas.
