The Spurlock Museum of World Cultures is excited to announce a new discussion-based film series, International Activism in Film. The series is a part of Spurlock’s current exhibit, Debates, Decisions, Demands: Objects of Campaigns and Activism (Oct. 16, 2020-May 23, 2021), and will offer a close look at five award-winning films from Brazil, Cambodia, Czech Republic, India, and South Africa through discussions on Zoom which are free to attend, no registration required.

On February 17 at 7:00pm CT, we will be joined by Robert Tigan of the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library, who will discuss the film Milada (Czech Republic, 2017), a historical biopic about the politician Milada Horáková and her resistance to a communist coup in the Czech Republic.

The events will take place over Zoom webinar. Go to www.spurlock.illinois.edu/events for additional details on joining and follow us on social media for event updates and reminders: https://fb.me/e/4PFs6Yeo4
