What is leadership for educational equity? How can student leaders in community colleges work to support diverse learners and civically engage to promote educationally just outcomes? This session will explore student leadership development and the role of community college student leaders in advancing equity. Participants will discuss the differences in equity and equality, as well as ways to develop to lead in socially conscious and culturally responsive ways that foster fairness, build community, and improve the student experience.
The session is part of the annual Forum for Excellence and will be lead by Chaddrick James-Gallaway and Colvin T. Georges Jr., both research associates at the Office of Community College Research and Leadership at Illinois.
